A Personal Note:  "I first met Doctor Pawlinga around 1994 when he came to me as a hair transplant patient. He was a nurse working in an administrative role for New York State at the time. We reconnected several years later during his second year of family practice at St.Clare's and he expressed an interest in learning hair transplant surgery. The ISHRS had just established a formal academic model for a one year post-graduate fellowship in hair surgery, so I applied to be an instructor and was accepted. During that 2005-2006 academic year Dr. Pawlinga performed nearly 70 full procedures under my supervision and he assisted and observed over 100 more, along with learning the skills of cutting and placing grafts. Since September of 2006 he has performed an average of 100 surgeries per year and has developed a true artistic flare for creating the natural feathering of the hairline along with the proper angling and distribution of the grafts. His rapport with our patients has been wonderful, and he has the true interest of the patient always foremost in his care for them. I am proud to have him as my associate."
